aswMBR Question

Hi all,

I’m going to scan my (hopefully clean) system drive with aswMBR, and, after reading the instructions, I’m curious about this: the guide I’ve read tells me to save the file to the desktop. There is a specific reason to use this location, or can I launch the application from whathever folder I want?

Similar applications require to be named with random names or non to be present in certain folders in order to not be recognised by already present malware, that’s why I ask this question…

Cheers,
Apha.

hey you can save the file where you want but it’s usually easy to find it when you have saved it to the desktop.

to your second question or thought. I’m no expert but sometimes the infection stop some file types from running at all.
So you need to chance the file name to trick the infection so you can run the tool you wanted.
