New to the forum so hope I am posting in the correct thread. I have found on a few occasions that after having a user run asWMBR that is not dropping MBR.dat to the desktop.
This is what I have seen at the bottom of the log
19:31:16.675 The log file has been saved successfully to “C:\Documents and Settings\Dean Nicholson\My Documents\aswMBR.txt”
u have to click save log after the completion of the scan…did u do that?
why did u run aswMBR?
I use this great program to check for rootkit infections on the malware removal forums that I am a helper at. I am sure the user clicked on save log as the log is saved, just not the MBR.dat. I just wanted to bring this to your attention in case there is a bug in the program. The MBR.dat file can be further evaluated to see if indeed the MBR is infected.
