yes my comment was a little out in left field, sorry about that.
I thought of it earlier because there was a similar post where a user said
he was using Athlon Thoroughbred - pretty sure that’s in the Athlon XP range.
Saying that, I have avast running on an Athlon XP without issues, although mine is
identified as “Barton”.
What is the “offer tool” something to do with the pop up boxes that has been discussed lately?
Whilst I don’t know its exact purpose and how it functions, the name kind of gives us a clue. It has been around for some considerable time, https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=100404.0, this topic from 01 July 2012 is almost 3 years old. That is still my best guess and that topic pre-dates these current popups by some years.
OK. I generated this support tool. Where do I have to send the file besides to Avast support where it already went through the tool?

The Support tool sends the file to Avast by default. Simply finish my instructions from Reply #15 :
