aswrvrt.sys booting problem

Hi,

My win 7 64 bit window got stuck at aswrvrt.sys when booting up in safe mode. Normal booting would be stuck at the window logo saying starting windows.

I have follow the instruction below and have attach the result file.

Are you now able to boot to normal windows ?

thanks essexboy. I tried to fix as instructed but it is still the same. cannot boot normally and in safe mode it stop at aswrvrt.sys

OK I will relook, was this after a windows update ?

I don’t think so but was not entirely sure as it was my partner’s computer. Thought she did a restart, and no update.

This seems to occur on a fair few windows 7 systems, the problem is that each cause is different dependant on the system

Do you have the windows CD as we may be able to do a restore, if not I can give you a recovery console on a USB to try it out

Hi,

I somehow manage to be able to get it booted up now. I have read on another forum suggesting it could be ram issue. So I took both ram out and gave it a clean. It is either that or the removal of battery that helped? I have then use mcafee rootkitremover and it did not find anything. Or maybe the your solution combined with that?

Thank you for your valuable help and advice.

This was not a malware problem, all I removed earlier was a known driver for your computer that has caused similar problems in the past

Still at least it was resolved… Yet another solution ;D
