Hey guys,
Had the same problem as a lot of other people but I thought I would make my own thread(maybe that would speed things up).
My PC BSOD-d and when tried to restart it was stuck on “starting windows” screen. When I tried to enter safe mode it got stuck on the aswrvrt.sys like everyone else. Adding FRST txt file to attachments.
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press fix
On completion try a normal boot
Still didn’t work. Stuck on starting windows screen and safe mode still stuck on the same thing. Did another FRST and added fixlog to just to be safe.
I have prepared two fixes, the first will attempt a system restore and the second will be to remove Avast
Run the first fix and try a reboot, if that fails then use the second fix in the next post
First the system restore
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press fix
On completion try a normal boot
Second fix if the first fails
Still not working. Now the safe mode loadup stops at CLASSPNP.sys. Am I missing something?
Nope, OK from the recovery console command prompt type the following
chkdsk c: /r
Once complete then try again to boot normally
The problem persists. Zero change.
