aswRvrt.sys problem!

Hi! I’ve Got the same problem with aswRvrt.sys stopping in safe mode, safe mode with networking and safe mode with command, i’ve also tried Last know good configuration but it isn’t working either, all I’ve got so far is blank screen with mouse pointer if I use system recovery, i wanted to try your method here but i the link to Windows Vista RC is not working.

I have a windows vista home basic, I haven’t turned on my Windows update, but I’m not sure if I have my Avast in Auto update.
anyway, before this, I was watching a movie when everything stops, I do a force reboot and after that windows isn’t working normally anymore.

Thanks In Advance!

I’ll get a remover for you…

hi essexboy! it’s a 32 bit, but i can’t seem to download your Windows vista 32 RC link! what happen before the problem occur is I’m watching a movie with MPC and suddenly it’s freeze, can’t move the mouse or bring up the start program and even the task manager. I waited for a bit for it to come back to normal but nothing happens, so i do a force shutdown using the power botton. and reboot but it’s not loading the windows desktop anymore, as i said in my earlier post, safe mode and safe mode with networking or with command is not an option anymore, it stops in the aswrvrt.sys.

anyways, i’d like to do your procedure but can you fix the windows vista 32 RC link? Thanks!

Hi essexboy! I am unable to follow your procedure because there is no windows vista RC loading up, I ended up only in a black screen with a mouse pointer, I waited for something to load up for about 30 min. but nothing happen.

Also I want to add that I looked up some other threads and forums where to set my BIOS to default settings, I notice that when I try to test my hard drive it says " 1720 smart hard drive detects imminent failure ", so I’m guessing this is a hard drive problem now. if so, is there a way for me to retrieve my files in my hard drive?
THanks!

The probability is no … However you can try OTLPE which is an XP based PE that will enable you (if it works) to backup up data to a USB

[*]Download OTLPENet.exe to your desktop
[*]Ensure that you have a blank CD in the drive
[*]Double click OTLPENet.exe and this will then open imgburn to burn the file to CD

[*]Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
[*]As the CD needs to detect your hardware and load the operating system, I would recommend a nice cup of tea whilst it loads
[*]Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
Note : as you are running from CD it is not exactly speedy
[*]You can backup any files that you wish from this OS

Ok, will try your options! Thank you so much for the support! Cheers to you!
