I am currently on my laptop. When i boot up my main computer normally, it says “Starting Windows…” then it blue screens. When I boot it up in safe mode, it shows all of the drivers, it gets to aswRvrt.sys, then blue screens saying that win32k.sys is the problem. I will attach the frst.txt file along with this. Please help, I want to game again.
Also…I have a windows 7 disk.

Hey, I’m pretty sure i’ve got the exact same issue as you, just to confirm is the STOP code you get on the BSOD 0x00000050?
Hi what happened prior to the non-booting ?

I moved my computer from my mom’s house to my dad’s house. Thank you for replying.
First we will check system files
From the CD repair options select command prompt
Then type in the following command and enter :
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
Then try a reboot, if that fails I will disable Avast although I do not feel that would make a difference

It said that Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
Not to good
Again from the command prompt could you type this command
chkdsk c: /r

I did and it said that it found no problems. A factory reset wouldn’t do anything, would it?
The following will disable Avast but it will now probably stop at classpnp.sys
Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press fix
On completion try a normal boot

Strange, when i try to boot it up with my flashdrive, it says ERROR: No configuration file found.
Is this with the recovery console on it ?

It has the FRST64 on it and the fixlist.txt. Also, rufus isnt recognizing my device (usb).
Based on what I have seen and the reference to win32k.sys you will probably have to reinstall windows
What is the make and model of the computer as it should have a recovery partition
You will need to back up all your data though prior to this

My computer was built by a friend of mine, so im not really sure. I am looking at a video of how to reinstall windows 7. Thank you so much for your time, essexboy. If you have any other tips or advice that would be appreciated.
Do you have a backup or image of your data ?
There is a free programme which will make an image of your disc in case this ever happens again
I also have a programme which will enable you to backup important data

Would I need to back up data? I do not mind if my personal files are deleted.
