aswsp,sys broke my computer

I attempted to upgrade avast. It did not update correctly - stuck in initialize. I killed it. Then, got BSOD. The culprit was a driver in windows/system32/drivers/aswsp.sys.

You sobs broke my computer and I am wasting my time in safe mode.

I am really pissed off.

Where is the quality assurance? Do you even test these upgrades?

Morons.

Hi,

wich Version do you use?
Try a new installation from avast.

Sorry, my english is not so good.

@cobwab, please send me the latest minidump file (\Windows\Minidump folder) to examine why you got the BSOD. New avast version should fix several problems in aswsp.sys so I think once you update to new version, you won’t receive any bsods.

Here is additional information on how to invoke a mini-dump file: http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=71.

Please, zip and upload the C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file to this anonymous ftp server and name it uniquely: ftp.avast.com/incoming or email it to pk (click on the email button under his name in this thread). Avast will analyze it and respond back to you in this thread or to your email. Thank you.
