today when I turned on my pc I got windows startup repair. it checked system and in diagnostic log I saw this:
c:\windows\system32\driver\aswvmm.sys is corrupted
after repair I can boot to windows but not sure problem continue or not if I reboot?
aswVmm.sys is for avast, please fix this if it is a bug.
os: windows 7 64bit
antivirus: avast free 8.0.1489
firewall: comodo 5
is this better that I temporary remove avast as I do not know this is last time I can boot to windows?
Hi,
thanks for info, can you please provide the corrupted aswvmm.sys for analysis?

where can I find it because system recovery replaced it with an old one
It could be probably retrieved from a volume shadow snapshot, but I think it was missing completely, not corrupted.

I had an update to new version a few days ago, I think it is a bug in updater that can not replace some system files and update them. had several IE crash too.
yesterday I downloaded last version and reinstalled it. after fresh installation I have not problem until now.
