ATF-Cleaner.exe false positive

9/3/2008 10:36:23 PM SYSTEM 852 Sign of “Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}” has been found in “C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff\Desktop\Pc Repair Programs\ATF-Cleaner.exe” file.

I hav used this program for a year and never was is a trojan. It came from Atribune.org

Not to worry too much about ATF having a virus in it. Just read several of the posts here about other people having the same problem. It seems as though it is only a false positive and Avast should have that fixed in a day or two.

Already fixed in the latest virus database.

Oh and one more false Positive. It keeps telling me that Windows Virtual PC (the windows installation part) Is a trojan. And it is not

Well you should create a separate topic for this and post the same information as you did above.

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings in the new topic. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
