So since 3 days ago, shortly after installing version .2021 my program hasn’t been able to auto install new definition updates. Not sure why this is, I’ve tried reinstalling, resetting modem, all sorts of things.
My settings are definitely set to Automatic Update and streaming updates are on, yet it doesn’t update and I have to manually click update for it to work… I was on 140701-0 yesterday and when I woke up this morning I went to update and it just now updated to 140702-0. This never happened before and it was able to update itself effectively. =/
Sometimes also, I get this weird bug or whatever where sometimes when I come back to the Update definitions settings my Connection setting will go from “Connection Established” to “Connection Not Established”.
Did you ever get an answer that fixed your issue? I had the same problem with version 8 and now I still have the same problem since I updated the program to version 2014. Even worse, in the new interface, its impossible to tell when the last definition update was performed. I could really use good, detailed instructions on how to perform a complete uninstall and clean the registry so I can start over.
BTW, please Do Not Touch the registry. The other work to do and to task/complete is fine.
If entering to fix/clean issues, you must know what you are doing; or the end result can/will be a dinged-up operating system, or, at worst, an operating system that will never run properly or not start. Windows registry work is for trained system engineers only, and not for just anyone to enter just because they can.
