Auto-renewal??? Haven't used this software in years!

I bought this software in Febuary 2014. I used it for a bit, can’t recall for how long, but it wasn’t for me so I uninstalled it the same year and forgot all about it. Fast forward two years and I’ve discovered I’m being charged for this software without my consent. Last month I was charged £25 (!!!) for Avast Pro, despite me never owning it previously as the original software I bought was the standard version? (it cost me £10).

In the last few months I’ve moved from a laptop (the machine I originally bought the software on) to a new desktop, does that have anything to do with this happening?

Anyway I intend to dispute this and the first thing I want to do is disable this auto-renewal nonsense. However, looking through my account and settings I can’t find any way to do this. The current “license” that was bought on my behalf says it uses auto-renewal subscription but doesn’t direct me to anywhere that will allow me to shut it off. Can anyone assist?

I hope this can be resolved speedily.

As info:
avast sends at least 2 mails before the auto-renewal takes place.
You could have disabled it before it did.

When buying the subscription, you have chosen the auto-renewal.
Perhaps you forgot about it or can’t remember it, but you gave permission

The “standard” paid version is the pro version.
It is the smallest paid version.

It doesn’t matter if you still are using avast or not.
You have bought a subscription and unless you disable the auto-renewal it will continue.
Just like with a subscription on a magazine, it doesn’t matter if you read it or not.

Well that would explain a lot, since I’ve been unable to access that e-mail address for some time. I had no idea I had auto-renewal enabled, if I had known I certainly would have disabled it as soon as able.

Still can’t find where I’m supposed to disable this. Is there nowhere in the account details/info where I can stop this, or is ringing them up the only option?

EDIT: I did try your link and it wouldn’t work. Kept saying “invalid details”, though both the ID and pass were correct.

If neither (Digital River and Nextway) work for you, the only option is to submit a ticket to avast.
