Auto Renewal

They’ve made it compulsory to sign up to automatic renewal! Are they really going to make me cancel my credit card just to stop them automatically renewing my subscription in two years time or can I still revoke it from my account? Tell me how to remove permission, please. I don’t trust Avast any more than I trust the hackers they are supposed to be protecting us against. They are taking way too many liberties now.

Once the auto renewal is disabled, the trial will expire after the 60 days and it won’t charge you for a 1 year licence.

I’ve followed the instructions for Nexway S.A.S. only to be told they don’t recognise my email address.
This set up is ridiculous and as much of a scam as any other out there. Avast used to be a company I trusted but I don’t think I do anymore. If I have problems with something as potentially catastrophic as computer/internet security, I want instant access to help that I can discuss with a person in real time 24/7. I sent a ticket 6 days ago about renewal and have had nothing back since the automatic reply. I’ve since had to go ahead, despite having reservations about doing so, just to make sure I’m covered. Poor and shoddy customer service are teh words that spring to mind, along with a few others I’m too polite to mention.

Make sure you are using the email that you used when subscribing to avast.
This doesn’t have to be the same as you are using for your avast account.

I’m using the email they used to send me the licence, password and purchase confirmation.

The box at the bottom of my details needed ticking to say I accepted auto renewal AND had read the terms and conditions. I couldn’t leave it blank. You might like to make 2 boxes, that way I can accept one without the other.

I’m sure I remember being able to allow or reject auto renewal in my Avast account before now. Why can’t I still? If I’m incorrect and have never been able to, why can’t I?

I’ve now checked my account on line and it says my licence is inactive. I’ve paid for it. What exactly have you done?
