looking on avast.com at new technoligies for version 7 it says for safezone:Available only in Pro Antivirus and Internet Security, our SafeZone™, your ultimate clean and secure window for financial transactions, now auto-prompts you and moves to the SafeZone from your regular browser.
i have yet to see it auto prompt me and move any banking site from ie,ff or chrome to safezone?am i not seeing a setting for this to happen?i would love to have this option.
I’m not sure where these banking URLs would be stored avast cloud based or local system, but I don’t know of any way to check your bank is listed in the database for it redirected or suggest that you use safe zone. So assuming this is working (and I don’t know if it is) then if you aren’t redirected then it probably isn’t in the database.
But in all honesty, if I had AIS and were going to do some on-line banking I wouldn’t even start in my browser, but go to the safe zone.
i agree with you and i do just use safezone from the start but if this feature is available i would like to get it working for other family members.ive been running ais for awhile and didnt know this feature existed until i seen it on avast.com.hopefully someone from the forum or avast can help.it would be nice to see what sites are actually in the avast list?
anyone that uses ais know if this auto prompt feature actually works or is it just listed on the website but actually doesnt work?or better yet how about someone from avast answer it?
This feature isn’t fully implemented yet – it seems web guys were faster than developers.
It’ll be probably included in avast8. When you open e.g. your banking website, you’ll be redirected to SafeZone to finish your banking operation there (you should be also able to define other sensitive webpages, e.g. amazon, paypal and other online stores). If you have any other ideas, let me know.
thanks for responding pk,i look foward to this option when it is put into affect.i tried bit defenders version and really like the idea of it,instead of manually opening safezone.
I sure hope it isn’t an auto-direct into Safe Zone and Chromium that can not be turned off. Because if avast! forces me to use Safe Zone and Chromium to access any website yet alone my bank then bye-bye avast!
Odd that a recent post from avast touts it in a banking report, but the auto prompt that is referred to is still missing. So I’m wondering what they are testing. Not what we’re using, that’s for sure.
