Auto Update File corruption error

After being notified of an automatic update, an error message appears informing me that the date file may be corrupted. This does not happen every time, but when it does I can’t be sure that the defs are actually updated. If I subsequently update manually to check, it does say files are up to date, but then it does that even if an auto update attempt has failed due to disconnection from the internet. (I am only disconnected when I install new software but it’s sods’s law that updates will happen right then!). Is there a way to repair the possible corrupted file without a complete reinstall, or can I be sure that the defs have been updated even if the program shows the wrong date?

If you have doubt, you can always manually update the files.

Welcome to the forum.
If you get that error again, would you please post it so that your problem can be eliminated? Thanks

All updating is also logged (in quite a detail). The log is stored in the file \setup\setup.log. Inspection of the file may easily reveal what went really wrong…

Thanks
Vlk

Hello… got the same problem, running in “test” mode with all on!

Anyway (free translated) I got a message as well, saying file is corrupt…

So I went to the file mentioned above and cut out the last entries as the file is over 3K big…
(however the timing in the log seems odd - but has nothing to do with the error I assume)

The old 0x20000011 error… Well, I never “learn” why it happens all these years… But it’s always time to learn. Maybe some of the developers could jump here.
