auto updates of the VPS haven’t been logged since 20\11\05. The only thing showing up is the new program availibilty notice. Also no popup when the data base is updated.
About avast! shows the current dat file, so the auto update is being done, just not logged.
The log viewer is set to notice.
update (basic) - auto for virus data base
- ask for program
update details - normal
update options - all boxes checked except for show icon in task bar

As you can see, no logged updates after 20\11\05
If I go under setup and updates, they show up as they do in your screen shot.
Also the pop up notifying me, that an update has happened, does not appear.

You’re right… it’s strange…
My ‘Notice’ get empty from yesterday to today… what could be sweep the logs? Just file size? Coincidence?
Today, no automatic update yet…
I don’t know about file size. My “Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\notice.log” is only 10kb. And if you notice, the notice of a program update is still being logged, but nothing else.
after updating today (automatic) the VPS to 0548-0 my Notice-Logfile of the Logviewer is updated again
after doing a VRDB Session also this action where wrote down in the Notice- log
it seems to by OK now
One time I noticed that a couple of my avast logs had not updated for more than two months. When I opened the log files with a text editor it was very clear that in the two “stuck” logs there was a corrupted last entry in the log files that was not diplayed in the log viewer.
Once the corrupted last log entry was deleted in the log files the logs resumed their normal reporting ability.
May be worth checking.
I couldn’t see anthing in the notice, error, or setup logs that really jumped out. But I did clear the notice log and tried a VRDB generation. It logged ok. Should have tried it before I cleared the log. Have to wait for next update to see if it gets logged. I kept a copy of the notice log.
Auto VPS’s still not being logged. Any more ideas? ???
Dunno what happened, but outta the “blue”, the little blue box popped up and announced an update and it is logged! ???

Well, actually I didn’t do anyhting, just waited it out. I wish I had done something, then I could at least post a solution for others who encounter this problem. ;D
Just an update.
After about 5 days of logging VPS updates, it went back to logging only the new program availibility. Also, when VPS’s where being logged, that’s all that was being logged.
This time I decided to wait it out before posting.
The program version logging went on for about 12 days, now starting today (Dec 20), Vps is being logged.
It seems that only one type of update is being logged at a time.
This is not a real problem as the updates are being applied. This can be viewed either in “about avast” or in the log viewer (setup and update).
Just posted this for others who may be experiencing this, to let them know that they do not have a major problem. ;D
Are you using the last 4.6.744 avast version?
No, still 691. Waiting to see how 744 goes with other users. 8)
