autochk.exe

Hi everybody,

during a scan avast found autochk.exe, located in C:\Windows\System32, and it says it is a Win32:Malware-Gen.
What should I do? Is it really a malware or is it just a false positive?
My laptop is a Samsung ultrabook, running on Windows 8.1, avast 2014.9.0.2008.
Thank you in advance for your help.

seems like it can be a false positive

You can upload files and report issues to avast here : http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php (select subject according to Your case)

You can use mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected

or you can send files from avast chest
how to use the chest. http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB21

Thank you very much Pondus. I will report to avast and let you know if they reply. I guess I will wait for avast’s reply, to restore the file from chest.
