Automatic and Manual Update failing in Avast! Free version 6.

Updated from Avast! v5 to v6 via the Avast! UI when it officially became available. All went smooth!

Believe that the automatic update this A.M. went okay. However, this afternoon the (red) warning screen came on that the automatic update failed. Since then I tried numerous times to update manually, however no successful update.

Difficult to explain the contradictory messages I receive(d) in the GUI. Therefore I added the attachments for you to see and probably have a solution for me other than uninstalling Avast and reinstalling it. Thank you for reading and hopefully giving me an answer in how to correct this. I was also thinking that your servers are very busy but then why these contradictory messages in the UI? Of course, if no fix available, I will delete and install Avast!. :slight_smile:

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You may need to reboot after the repair. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.

I did do a repair in the Add/Remove but didn’t reboot. Doh! Now I rebooted and that fixed it. Thank you so much!! :slight_smile:
