Automatic Renewal HELP!

Hello goodday,

well i got a notice on paypal that i had to pa 50E to Digital River for Avast.

I contacted DR and they said i have one active subscription.
something with the automatic renewal, which i NEVER accepted.

they gave me a ordernumber.
so i try to login, find that order to cancel it

I have no password so i have to find my order or to login.
I dont recieve a email with a new password.

basically i never accepted a automatic renewal, I cant find any documentation on accepting it.
They dont provide me with any information regarding anything only to download and gave me a serial number…

I have no problems with avast always worked like a charm but this i dont want…

I have no idea how to cancel or block this

any help?

Please (re)search before posting as things like this have been explained many times already.

The option to take the auto-renewal or not is very clearly shown on the order detail page before you finalize the order.
You did accepted (took) the auto-renewal when purchasing avast.
You could have unselected it before finalizing the order.
You could have disabled the auto renewal after the purchase.

Before the auto-renewal takes place, avast sends you several emails telling it is about to take place, giving you enough time to disable it before it takes place.

Having read all the complaints regarding auto renewal and repayments recently , I think it’s shocking that Avast have not simplified the disabling .I have used Avast for many years in all formats from free version to paid versions . I have Avast Premier on laptop and another version on desktop which was bought on special offer at a reduced rate .On this version it does not give me the option of disabling auto renewal , only lists expiration date .This is my third attempt tonight in recent weeks to try and make sure that money is not taken out of my account by auto renewal on both programmes .Fortunately one does not expire until 22/6/2017 the other 15/11/2017 so I have time to try and resolve this matter .I think on one it was deactivated but would like to get confirmation on both accounts .Clicking on the link above by Eddy https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB24 does not seem to give me an option for Cleverbridge and trying to get on to their site it just keeps trying to load unsuccessfully Having three different sites is confusing as my other account is with Nexway .Being in my 70s doesn’t help me in trying to sort this out .Is there an easy way please ?? Avasts reputation I believe is being badly affected by this .I have read and tried the various links but getting nowhere , being on two different machines and bought at two different times doesn’t help I suppose . Thank you for any help given .

Well, if it was precessed by Cleverbridge the instructions are in the mail you have gotten from them.

Simply click on “Cancel your subscription” in the mail and fill out the form on the Subscription Cancellation page.

Bob, Cleverbridge is using a different way for canceling of auto-renewal and it is not covered in the articles you posted.

Thank you Bob for the help . I had a quick look and mine does not have the easy way as per note at bottom " if you cant find a cancellation link " . On original e mail it states " you are subscribed to a multiple payment product " .It seems them and the other Nexway subscription I have are deliberately making it hard to cancel , when it would be so simple for them to amend .Having used Avast for many years and benefitted from help on the forum from yourself and others which is appreciated , this fiasco leaves a sour taste in the mouth . I have to go out now but will try again on returning home .

The wording could certainly be clearer. I personally don’t like the confusing description.

After " going round the houses " once more and trying different suggestions , I have fired off a couple of requests to Cleverbridge and Avast customer service to verify or not that both my subscriptions have no auto renewal .Just have to wait and see if any replies on subscriptions .Having googled the matter it is astonishing the number of complaints on this matter and money being taken out of accounts with subsequent trouble in getting it reimbursed .Not the way to run a business !!! Hope to be able to report back to all who helped with any news soon , many thanks .
