automatic scan and window-mode games

I play a lot of World of Tanks in winowed mode instead of full screen. Is there a way to automatically stop Avast! from doing system scans while that .exe is running?

Frankly, it’s ruining my enjoyment of the game when it starts to scan. I’ve lowered the priority to try and conserve resources, but I still experience large amounts of lag and other issues resulting from my system being overloaded.

I was under the impression that would just prevent the little pop-up announcements. Does it stop the random scanning it seems to enjoy doing?

There is no random scanning - and unless you scheduled an on-demand scan yourself, there are no big scans started automatically.
