Often I see a popup from the system tray informing me that the Avast is having trouble automatically updating. Here is the exact error message I receive when trying to install a downloaded update manually:
Can’t install VPS update. Please, report following errorcodes:
I am runnning XP Pro sp2.
What should I do?

Why don’t you upgrade the avast! program to 4.6.691 (and not only the virus database)?

I believe this has come up before and it has something to do with skinning software not being able to skin the update window.
Do you have any such software?

Then the same question applies, do you have any skinning/theme software, etc.?
