I just set up avast home. How do I set it to do auto matic updates. I was able to do it with norton just by clicking a button.Thank you for your help.

Avast sets them automatic on install.
As soon as you connect, Avast checks for updates.
If you stay connected, Avast will check every 4 hours for updates.
You can change that in avast4.ini
Please use the search function before asking. Things like this (and many more) are eplained already multiple times on this board.
Since you are new to Avast, I suggest you spend a little time reading the help/manual. It has a lot of information about the settings/options Avast is giving the user, as well does this board. As with all new things in life, you need to spend some time to learn/get used to them
