Automatically delete infected emails

Hello,

I’m using Avast Professional 4.6.691 on a XP-computer with MS Outlook 2003.

I get a lot of infected e-mails, and it’s very tiring to get notified and press delete every single time. Is it possible to make Avast automatically delete all infected e-mails without giving me notice of it?

I’ve looked around in Settings but I haven’t found one. Please explain.

No, only in Professional version (see picture here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=13315.msg112285#msg112285).
In Home version you can only use Silent Mode:
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon.
It will start On-access protection

Click on Internet Mail and then on Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and select Silent Mode and the default answer No. This will send the file (email) to Chest.

Do the same for the and Outlook/Exchange plugin.
The answer Yes in Silent Mode keeps the virus in the file or into the message (attach) and continue the scanning. You can’t configure ‘delete the infected file’ in the Home version.

You can do the same for Standard Shield provider, but it won’t be a good idea…

Silent mode in the case of the WebShield provider simply means that avast will keep pressing the “Abort connection” button for hte user automatically.

Tech, ‘cato’ is using the Pro version. “I’m using Avast Professional 4.6.691”

Yes, I sure am using the Professional version.

How do you do it in that version?

Sorry :-[
You can use the ‘Virus’ page into each Task settings.
In Virus Page of Internet Mail Provider and Outlook plugin set it to:
Delete Move to Chest
or any other sequence you want.
Right click the Task (for instance, Standard Shield, choose the Virus page and configure it.

Hope this helps…

I’m sorry - I don’t get how you get into these settings. Where is it and how do I get there? Please explain in great detail…

Thanx.

Start Enhanced User Interface, rightclick on “Resident protection” in the Tasks folder and select “Properties” from the popup menu.
Make sure you have the “Advanced configuration” option checked on the next dialog.
