Automatically move infected Emails to Quarantine?

I’m using Avast Free.

Is there some way to set Avast to automatically move infected / detected emails to quarantine? I get a pop up for each one. I’d be happier with them just going to quarantine.

The infected SPAM load has been very high lately and I’m getting quite a few of these.

I did try to search here and in Google but I couldn’t find anything even remotely recent e.g. the suggested link here was from 2005 and the one from Google sent me looking for options that no longer exist.

Thanks,

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Is there a specific location that they are coming from, perhaps you can block it ?

I don’t believe there is as some email programs don’t store individual emails but are placed in a larger file as such. Trying to extract one could corrupt that database file.

There doesn’t appear to be such a setting in the Mail Shield Settings.

I use a program called MailWasher Pro that I pre-vet any email Algorithms (for want of a better word) the program also has its own Spam detection means any that get past the initial checks you can flag. This helps prevent them getting through.
Whilst it is a paid program (I have a lifetime license), but there may be similar free options.

Avast is grabbing individual email files before they are pulled into my email client. I could potentially try to block these on the server, but that would mean blocking them based on some specific individual characteristic that they have “today”. Tomorrow they change and I’m back to logging into the server again and blocking again.

That’s a long a repetitive road. I’d really just like to shut off the pop-up notification.

The nature of an Antivirus program (Avast in particular) is to pre-scan before they are opened in the same way it scans files or a web page, before they are opened. This way you have some warning before you possibly open what might be a suspect/scam/spam email.

Not knowing what the popup notifications are how they present or how you view your email POP3/SMTP or on-line (web-mail). A screenshot of the Alert might help.

I’m not entirely certain of the meaning/action of this Generate report file (locally). Yes, you can view that later and see what is in the report file and see if it has more information.

I’ll grab some screen captures tommorow.

What I’d like to do is be able to see the email headers. That might provide me with more generic information I could use to block them en masse on the server… perhaps there’s a whole country I could filter for. But I can’t see what that might be. I’ll post the Extract screen shot too.

Here’s the Pop Up I’m getting (over, and over, and over again) as each infected email is detected:

I’ve made some progress on the Extract process to get to the headers, but it’s still not working correctly.

If I try to Extract the files like this, it doesn’t create any file(s) at all even though it tells me it was successful:

I discovered that if I check the green box on the left and use the download option at the bottom of the screen, it creates a file in the chosen directory. But they always have a zero length:
