AutoSandbox

Can any uninstall trigger autosandbox? And if the uninstall is autosandboxed, the program will uninstall or there will be no changes coz of virtualization or the uninstall will not run & give error keeping the program intact.

I can’t say for certain, but I have never seen that happen here on my PC, or seen it posted here on the forum.

I asked this coz if a new installation is autosandboxed then it will not be a prob coz it will be deleted after closing the app & later you can install it with the option open normally in the autosandbox.

But I dont know how the autosandbox will treat uninstallation? or an uninstall cannot trigger autosandbox, is it so?

Not “any” but “a” uninstall may activate the auto-sandbox. Then you can make a decision.

OK, suppose an uninstall activated autosandbox & I sandboxed the uninstall, what will happen then?

If you know how a sandbox works, you can answer that yourself.

The program will uninstall or not if the uninstall is sandboxed?

Guess.

Sandbox The avast! Sandbox is a special security feature that allows you to browse the web, or manually run another application, in a completely safe environment, isolated from the rest of your system.

This is especially useful when visiting potentially infected websites, or if you suspect an application may be infected - you can run the program (or your web browser) inside the sandbox to determine whether or not it is safe, while remaining completely protected against any malicious actions that it may try to carry out.

To run an application or to browse the web using the sandbox, just click on “Run a virtualized process” then browse the files on your computer to find the required application e.g. Internet Explorer. The browser or other application will then open in a special window with a red border, indicating that it is being run inside the sandbox.

Click on HELP CENTER and it will provide you with lots of help.

Well if I understand how Autosandbox in Avast works then since the uninstall is running in the sandbox & a program running in the sandbox cannot make any changes in the real system so after the uninstall in sandbox is completed & the window is closed, the program uninstalled with sandbox will still be there present in the system the way it was i.e without any corruption or changes in the program, m I right??
