AV console goes black

Anyone having the same problems?
Every time i move the anti-virus console over my screen, the console goes totally black and i can no longer click on the buttons (by guessing where these are, approximately, as i cant see them any more).

I am using Avast AV for over a year, this phenomenon is there from the first version used by me and still is there with the current 4.7 version, it happens also with different skins.

My video card is an Nvidia 7600, before this a 5200 which did the same.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Does this happen if you run ashSimp2.exe from avast folder?
Does this happen with any other application?

Hi Tech,

No, the ashSimp2 console can be moved over the screen without it getting black.

It is the ashSimpl console that becomes black the moment the mouse button is released after moving the console over the screen. This is the console that is activated from ‘Start - All Programs - Avast! Antivirus - Avast! Antivirus’ or from the icon in the notification area - Start Avast! Antivirus. It happens with both available skins.

And no, no other application does the same.

Found a solution …

Probing around in settings – appearance, found and unchecked the transparency effects checkbox.

With this unchecked, i can move the console over the screen with no side effects.

Should have found it sooner, sorry to have taken your time.

This is what I’ve thought… a skin problem…

There are many other skins available for download…

Seems that the video driver does not work with transparency…
