AV-Test 2017: Testing the self-defense of antiviruses

Hello developers, and why AV-Test 2017: Testing the self-defense of antiviruses, Avast’s solution showed not a high level of file protection with the help of ASLR and DEP technologies, the same AVG in the rating is much higher than Avast

https://www.av-test.org/en/news/news-single-view/32-products-put-to-the-test-how-good-is-antivirus-software-at-protecting-itself/

Scoring lower on that test doesn’t mean the self protection is not good.
Only two things are tested which doesn’t say much about the level of self defense.
There are other ways then just ASLR and DEP.

Thanks for the explanation)). But still other vendors are able to protect their products, even from DEP and ASLR. Quotation: (Of course, some manufacturers may be criticized for neglecting the simplest security mechanisms, such as ASLR and DEP, such as Comodo, Emsisoft, Avast, McAfee, ThreatTrack Quick Heal, K7, Ahnlab and Seqrite It is not difficult to apply these self-defense technologies, and many competitors have deployed them in full.

ASLR and DEP are just two things that can help protect software, l but there are many others.
What those testers have done is NOT testing the self defense of av’s, but just checking if (and how far) they have used ASLR and DEP.

See it like this.
If I have really good locks on my door from brand A, why should I also put good locks on them from brand B ?

Thank you, you are right in everything))
