Av-Test April 2012 Test Results - http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/home-user/marapr-2012/

Aprils results are better than March. which is nice to see.

I also like the Android protection status of avast!:

Huh ???

cant believe AVG is ahead of avast almost all months in all av test reports avg is given better rating than avast! :o

You need to trust the test for good and for bad. No prejudices.

Testing BitDefender 2013

http://beta2013.bitdefender.com/

Sorry but I don’t really care. This is the avast! support forum.

If you had read the results. Bitdefender got the best results. So I was curious to see what is different between Bitdefender and Avast since I am a long time Avast user , I tried testing a beta version. There is nothing wrong with curiosity or comparing a product with another and understanding the deficiencies and in this matter why Avast got a lower score.

Edit :

Bitdefender got a score of

Protection 6/6
Repair 6/6
Usability 5/6

I really wonder if anyone can get that score  It is kinda hard to believe.

What did you discover or think about them? Which are they?

And what makes you think that I hadn’t read the results ??? I try to stay as informed as possible with all of the latest information
from many different vendors. I need to be informed in order to intelligently answer questions.

I have seen the AV test labs consistently rate BitDefender as one of the top ones.

I have also read numerous user reviews how BitDefender totally trashed their PCs and if it didn’t, their PCs slowed to a crawl.

Bottom line - you have to look at all elements when evaluating with in my book, performance in the “real world” being the most important.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The only results I care about are the ones I get on my computer.
avast has over 150 million active users to vouch for the efficacy of avast. It’s called word of mouth.
I have helped several people set-up avast an their machines and they are now happy users.

No doubt avast looks at these so called “tests” and will react appropriately.

Wow…what a standard you set for Avast selection. How did you select Avast for the first time selection?

I Avast failed to perform well in these tests, it does not mean that any one said them as “so called” tests.

Just simpler…These tests bulk up the Antivirus team to develop the stable and improved product in future.

AVG’s strongest point is Identity Protection module. avast!'s passive Behavior Shield just cannot match that. Unfortunately.

May we should give Vlk and the Avast Anti-SWAT a wake up call :o

Have to agree,Vlk when are u guys going to make avast behav shield to block malicious events?? :o

I’ve asked about it several times and never got any real answer which is a bit disappointing…

Maybe just maybe we might have to wait until v7.1…or maybe v8.0 might turn out to be the new weapon who knows

And till that time we will have to use behav shield on ask i guess??

Wake-Up Vlk and and avast team…wake up! ::slight_smile:

Never worry again about hackers stealing your account information!
Bitdefender keeps hackers at bay by automatically opening all your online banking pages in a separate iron-clad, secure browser.

Interesting.

Read the recent articles on the “Flame” virus. Sucker has been the “wild” for two years and no one can detect it.

Nothing is going to protect you against the new breed of malware except a good HIPS. Something that will detect code injection, hooks, keyloggers, screen scrappers, you name it.
