How can I delete the ‘avast antivirus clear uninstall’ from my computer? Anyone who can help me. THANKS

I’ve just updated my PC with last release of Avast but, after reboot, I’ve received the following message: “UI failed to load” so my PC is not protected. What about?
Windows Vista Home premium

Go to Add Remove Programs/Programs and Features → avast! Antivirus → Change → Repair

Tell me if that helps.

after I unchecked this option in avast in my host machine → reboot, my VM was at least x2-3 faster and more responsive, no graphic slow down anymore

Too many troubles with Avast 17.1.2286 >:(

How to re-install Avast 12.3.2280 ? (without using a restore point) and where to find the full installer ?

Thanks in advance

Just uninstall Avast 17.1.2286. Search for Avast 12.3.2280 offline installer download. Should bring up plenty of download locations. Reinstall Avast 12.3.2280.

Did the same because of obvious performance drops.

Online installers on first page of this topic still points to wrong downloads:

See http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe

That won’t work. Look for my answer few pages back I think in this thread. You can’t just download old version and install it, because it’ll auto update itself again. This is designed in such a way to prevent people from installing and running old, outdated versions that are vulnerable or offer insufficient protection against current threats.

Wrong in what regard? It points to online installer of free version. It’ll ALWAYS install the very latest version available.

Release history is not up-to-date.

Release notes don’t mention that Game Mode is not supported on Windows XP

No positive results, Avast is always off line
thanks for your help

Updated my avast to this new version.

Looks great!

Just one thing in my mind…

avast Account link is missing?

avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe version of my download is 12.3.3154.0
I think it must be 17.1.3394.0

It’s an online installer. It doesn’t matter at all as it downloads the latest components on the fly anyway.

Wrong in that regard. Just set program update to manual.

IIRC even the offline installers automatically check that there is any update is released or not when executed.
And if there is, it downloads and installs latest version no matter what installer contains, so you can’t install old versions unless you are disconnected from the internet.

You too are wrong:

  1. the user has downloaded a file to install avast, that would override any setting to manually update (which relates to updates from avast) as you are you are in effect doing a manual update.

  2. the file downloaded was an on-line installer, it is somewhere in the region of 6MB in size (not the 270MB of the full off-line installer). That just handles the on-line install of the latest avast version and downloads the required components for that.

Yes, you have to install it offline and change program update setting to ASK before you go online again. No other way around this. But going with latest version is always the way to go imo.

The uninstaller still gets stuck at Replacing Files. This was reported by me maybe 10 months ago. Why not fixed yet?
