The point of the streaming updates are:

  1. You get them more quickly, meaning you are ahead of the curve on new malware outbreaks/developments.
  2. They are considerably smaller as you aren’t waiting longer for a larger update, so they really shouldn’t slow your connection. Check out the avast\defs folder for the stream sub folders, example ‘99999999_stream’ open that and you will see they are pretty small.

But it is your system and decision.

In regards to my first post about the version number, from within the UI the program did in fact, update to 9.0.2006 … so far all is ok. UI is somewhat bland, needs a little color. And what is with the funny color of the Avast Tray Icon ? ? Normally, Orange, but now and then you see it changing to Blue for a bit (when it is animating, I think)

What i love most is the interface is killing and graphics you guy did was so much great and understanding. For those who don’t know how to go about the interface, this is much easier for them to go.

I deleted AvastPEToolkit folder and tried to download Rescue Disk but still can’t download it.
There is the same error in EventLog:

Hi,

I use Windows 7 32 bits, I have just install Avast Internet Security 2014 9.0.2006 and I usually use Wiimc, as client smb, to play videos and music.

Using Avast 8.x.xxx, I had no problem, but using Avast 2014 I can´t use smb, because I get an error from the share drive.

I have uninstalled Avast 2014 and reinstalled Avast 8 and all works correctly again.

It´s possible to fix this problem?

I made the mistake to update my Avast Internet Security today and now the WM Recorder 14, that I used to save any videos on my computer doesn`t work anymore. Any solution for this???

A brand new version will always have issues.I find it better to wait after an bugfix update before installing an entirely new upgrade and this applies to most software.
