AVAST 2014 (9.0.2006)

I use Outpost firewall pro on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits,the web protection is always turnedoff by default.
Problem solved by specifying the rules:

Settings/General/Application rules/INSTUP.EXE and Edit/Network Rules and New- where the protocol is:TCP and direction is: outbound and remote port is HTTP,HTTPS ALLOW.

Also:
New-where the protocol is: TCP and direction outbound ALLOW

In previously occasions Outpost created the rules automatically. And I completely forgot to use auto-learn mode :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok 7 Shields in 3 but I used to have 8 on Avast anti-virus Pro; One is missed the rootkits shield maybe.

Firewall makes WP8 emulator internet connection to time out even though xde.exe has allowed connections set to all connections.

online security in IE11 in Windows 8.1 is not compatible.
how you can solve

tnx

Yes, the auto learn can come in very handy at times.

Disable the protected mode within the Internet Options/Advanced tab - from the Tools menu at the top right of the IE browser.

All of the previous shields are still there, some have been merged into others.
The protection is still there, only better.
There never was a “rootkit” shield.

Are you using v2014 Pro?

Disable the protected mode within the Internet Options/Advanced tab - from the Tools menu at the top right of the IE browser.

Is anyone getting a second safezone browser icon keep appearing on the desktop everytime the PC restarts or is it just me ?

i just installed “avast 9 pro” and i am not having any problems with it…

i used the “online-installer”, not the regular installer and i am running windows xpsp3…

i don’t like the new GUI…

Your welcome

How come the Avast team decided to remove the Sandbox Feature from Avast Free 9 ? ?
This was a good feature and should have been kept in the free version. Hopefully they
will put it back in ? ?

Sandbox has been replaced with DeepScreen.

I have that checked, but it does not seem to be the same as Sandbox.
If you look at Tools, there is an option there for you to Purchase Sandbox.
So I would tend to think that the two are not exactly the same function.

Sandbox is an right click and run sandboxed for applications.

DeepScreen is automatically analysing applications on execution, like the AutoSandbox in version 8.
