Why isn’t avast auto-updating for me? The streaming updates seem to be working supposedly but the auto-date isn’t? This isn’t an old install of avast I ust installed it on 2/26/2014… Yesterday I did a manual update because avast didn’t auto-update at all…
Do you (or did you) have another av installed?
If so, did you removed it before installing avast?
Any other security software installed?
If so, which one(s)?
I just got the update after 16 minutes of the computer being on… It can’t be my internet connect as I have 1MBPS DSL.
To answer your question Eddy, I had Norton Internet Security installed. I removed it via program and features and then ran the uninstall tool from the Norton website. Also I haven’t noticed my signature of IE was out-dated… Here is my browsers as of right now: Internet Explorer 11.
With the streaming updates, the reliance on the virus definitions updates aren’t as great. You should know that there is no specific schedule for virus definition updates, but the fact that previously they average about two a day. Like all averages some days will be more some days it will be less.
On Mar 2nd 2014, there were two, but the later one 140302-1 was fixes only.
On Mar 1st 2014, there were three one of which 140301-2 was fixes only.
As I said if your streaming updates are working your reliance in the regular updates is lessened.
