AVAST 2015 keep creating system restore point

I lost 5GB of hard disk space after having updated to avast 2015, and I didn’t know why. After some check, I realized that a system image backup was created EVEN THOUGH I have turned off system restore since last year. I deleted that image backup and got back my free space, but after about 10~20 minutes, another image backup was created. I tried deleting it many times, but all the time that image backup came back after few minutes (of course, system restore was still turned off). This happened after I updated to avast 2015, then I decided to uninstall Avast. After uninstalling, no more image backup has been created up to now.
Does anyone encounter this problem?

It is not a system backup, it is the new NG component.
Please use the search option and/or look at the avast website to learn more about it.

It would be a hell of a lot easier if you’d just posted a link because if you search here for “NG” or “NG component” all you get is re-directed back to this thread. Even searching for “Avast NG” yields no results other than this forum thread.

This is what I found by Googling and is the most helpful explanation with links that I came across:-

And what does “NG” mean anyway? I’d guess: Next Generation but I’ve not even found confirmation of that.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve heard about NG before, but I ween that it is an virtualization technology, has nothing to do with system image backup. After reading your reply, I’ve started searching and found this article

It takes a snapshot of your drive thereby enhancing "Deepscreen"
Oh... ok...

Maybe “Avast Engine”? Because “NG” sounds similiar to it.

You posted without reading my reply, didn’t you?

Pretty Good Overview here…
