Avast! 2015 now interferes with Youtube HTML5 player

Hi, folks. I have now updated to the latest version of Avast 2015 (141111) and I’ve suddenly started having issues with the HTML5 player for Youtube. I am unable to use it in all browsers, with no exception. However what I’ve noticed is that the issue will go away as soon as I disable Avast’s Web Shield. It is also worth mentioning that the problem began immediately after yesterday’s Avast! update. Is there a way to stop Avast from obstructing HTML5 without having to disable the Web Shield? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Could you give us some more information on what kind of environment you have? A good start would be OS version and browser versions, as well as the program version of Avast (you have given us the definitions version.)

I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit with Firefox aurora (35.0a2, November 12th build with MSE enabled via about:config) with Avast 2015.10.0.2208 and the youtube html5 player works fine for me.

I apologize for the lack of information.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
Browser version: Mozilla Firefox 33.1
Avast Program version: 2015.10.0.2208
Virus Definition version: 141112-0

I’m not having any issues with YouTube.
Any other security software you have now or ever had? Firewall, anti-spyware, etc?
If uninstalled how was it removed?

You might want to try a repair…Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.

No issues that I can report. I also have the free version of Malwarebytes, but it doesn’t contain a web shield, just the scan option. I repaired Avast as instructed, but the issue with HTML5 still persists if the web shield is active.
