Where and when did anyone from avast state the NG will only install on systems with SSD’s?

OK, thanks. I didn’t see that. Just took the wind out of my sail.
Yeah …its totally unfair, it runs just as good on hdds. I spent days doing a fresh OS install to get ng to install properly, now its taken away from hdd users, I would like that extra protection, I have no excuses to not turn to mcafee security now, I get it for nothing every year.
I have two complaints.
- No more NG because I don’t have an SSD drive even though the last version worked fine with NG and the extra protection it offered.

2.There has just been a major breach in Dropbox and everyone needs to change their password.
Is it really a good idea to push this product ?

Another problem still present in the latest version.
Missing Ignore option on some add-ons
Request to remove Google Play Music is obviously a mistake.

This has been around for a very long time and still hasn’t been corrected ???
Many of the GUI issues that I mentioned are still not fixed.
Think so this is a design bug in tray icon of Avast.
Thanks for the update. ![]()
Still doesn’t work for Windows 10. When all other antivirus software’s do. Thought with this update use would had made it work for windows 10
Agreed!! So what’s the catch with NG here?? Why only for SSD’s?? We will be loosing fair amount of protection without it.So is dyna-gen going to be as effective or better than NG.Hopefully,we will have these technologies in place.
Is this only going to be this way only in the RC 2?? Hope it is as if not we need dyna-gen to be as effective or better with or without NG.
Seriously, WTF!? NG only for SSD systems? From limited range of virtualization and powerful enough systems you have narrowed it down to only systems with SSD drives which means a tiny % out of 200 million users will be even able to use it. This will be yet another useless release by avast!. Well done… :![]()
I have a system with friggin 18GB of RAM where i can run 4 virtualized systems in real-time with each having 4GB of dedicated memory and yet i can’t use NG at all because i don’t have SSD. You guys make absolutely no sense.
Hi gyus.
NG won’t be just for SSD, still working on better determination system requirements. We just don’t want end up in situation, that after avast installation your computer is unusable ![]()
Browser Cleanup issues will be fixed during October.
Windows 10 support will be added in upcoming versions, definitely not in V2015 R1.
So this yet again means we won’t get NG on a avast! 2015 release day. Do you ever actually release anything new on the actual relase day or do you just always release just a new GUI and add new stuff that actually matters half a year later? Not cool and just confirms the problem yet again that i’ve stated in the RC2 thread…

For good performance of NG, it is critical to have a system disk with good random read performance. In final version, there will be no hard SSD condition, but rather a 16kB random read performance requirement (2 MB/s for example). Also it will be possible to install NG through installer even if disk performance condition isn’t met.
It is possible to check the performance of system volume by “winsat disk -ran -read -drive c” command.
3,84 MB/s with my HDD (WD Caviar Black 2TB).
Good to hear it won’t be blocked entirely, because that would be really stupid.

- you will get NG on avast! 2015 release day
- new release contains more improvements Home Network Securit, SecureDNS, https scanning
- your complains in another thread are under investigation
I know i sound totally negative lately and all, but every such news really drags me straight down to the bottom, that’s why i express my concerns so “harshly”. I just wish a 2015 release will be a properly punchy one, so people get more faith into avast! capabilities. That’s all.
1.03 MBs on my 500 GB Hitachi HTS545050A7E380 HDD Drive.
Now we know whats going on with NG.
But what about Dyna-Gen, is it ready yet, and when will it come in? ![]()
I must point out that there a problem when you run intelligent scanning !! basically says that there are problems inside the network and then running a scan on the targeted network ok
