avast 2015 security installed, restart no boot

Hi

I have just downloaded avast 2015 and installed and on reboot it just spins.

I see in a previous post to go to single user mode and type

/sbin/mount -uw /
then

sudo sh /Library/Application Support/Avast/components/uninstall/com.avast.uninstall.app/Contents/MacOS/uninstall.sh

however it does say this is for version 9 and Im under the impression the latest product is v10??

could anybody help please

imac was working fine and I previously had eset which expired a few days ago and was removed without drama a few days ago

So would just like to update this that it was not avast that killed the mac it was the subsequent removal of genieo which leaves a file behind called launchd.conf in the private etc folder

removed this and its booting again
