Hey guys,
So I play this game called Runescape and when you log in from the log in screen it takes you to the lobby where you select your world and such. The amount it takes to go from the log in screen to the lobby is about 15 seconds, and then from the lobby to the in-game world another 15 seconds. This is completely abnormal and should not be occurring considering it should take me less than 10 seconds to log in completely in-game. I tried to get to the root of it and it happened to be the web shield. Whenever I turn off the web shield I’m able to log in almost instantly. But when I turn it back on it takes 30 seconds to log in. Now I have done almost everything I could to try and fix this problem. I’ve tried adding exceptions to the web shield like .runescape.com & *.runescape.com & JagexLauncher.exe
None of these things fixed the issue. Now when I go to a different computer on my network which has Avast 2014 with Web Shield active, it logs me in just fine. So it’s most likely a 2015 problem? It’s not a runescape problem because I’m able to log in normally on other computers in my network. Also this problem stopped happening for about a week or so and now it has just started up again.
Do you guys know what the issue is? Should I just download 2014, if so where?
I’ve posted something similar to this on the Runescape Tech Support forums, but it seemed better to post it on here too because it mostly seems like an Avast problem.
