i hope they get it fixed

Interesting situation with the toolbar icon. It it tested to work well with both Firefox 41 and 42 under normal circumstances. Could it have happened that the add-on got uninstalled or disabled during the update to 42?

Regarding the “good new passwords”, it might be just a different expectation from some feature. It would be great if you could provide screenshots.

Hi. You need to click on “Update” under the heading of “Essential Update” NOT "Essential update + internet security. My best guess is that this is a bug, because I don’t use beta version at all. After you click on udpate it will just check if you have/don’t have the latest version

I’m getting the same error on gmail using Firefox. No error message using IE 11. No problem with Windows Live Mail.

For a “smart guy” you aren’t too smart. Do you really think I’m that stupid. Maybe it’s a language barrier. ???
To Avast, the problem still needs to be fixed. Thanks

Using Avast IS, checking for a manual update shows the following:

Selecting updates gives the following results:

I just notice the RC3 is now Avast 2016 R1, no wonder there is no notification of the program update ;D

Working fine so far, since the release of RC3

This is exactly the confusion I mentioned when they keep the same build number as the last RC build. A new release should always have a new build number even if nothing has changed.

So has anybody with a vista 32 bit system tried Avast 2016? Have they fixed the computer freezing while browsing problem?

What happened to the Virus Chest in the new version 11.1.2241? Can’t find it anywhere…

@apeka: On top: Scan>Scan for viruses>At the bottom “Virus chest”

Or right click the avast tray icon and select virus chest.

Time spent on reconnaissance is seldom wasted ;D

+1
Amazing what you find when you look around. :o

:stuck_out_tongue: we know where to click, we clicked in the right spot, this is a bug, now please have it fixed ,

hi all:

is ng still unavailable for win 10? i am not seeing it offered at install or in change option.
thanks in advance for knowledgeable response.

sincerely,
skinnypops

Thanks. Invalid certificate bug is now fixed. Avast doesn’t block wikipedia, cdburnerxp sites and I don’t have to disable https scanning.

Hope that answers your question.

Thanks. The previous versions had serious compatibility issues with XP, Vista, and Win10.

Anyone cares to share their experiences with Vista 32 and 2241 (Avast 2016, the latest version)? I am afraid to install it as i had a terrible time with the preceding 2 versions. Had to roll back to 2218.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, no screenshots available … I just checked FF add-ons, and both Passwords and SafePrice extensions are showing as installed but disabled, and considering I seem to have everything else working properly again, I’m gonna leave them that way for now.

It’s a shame, I’m one of the unfortunates who has to re-use the same password everywhere (brain injury 20 years ago would make it impossible to remember good but different passwords), and a properly working password manager would have been the ideal solution. I take it that unless and until someone else can replicate my problem, I can’t hope for a fix? I haven’t as yet tried any of the 3rd-party managers, and was delighted – temporarily, unfortunately – to see it become available in avast, which I’ve happily used for maybe 15 years now.

thanks bob. yes, my question is answered. now i just need to figure out what i have shut off that causes ng not to be offered for install.
so, thanks again and a good day to you.
