Since installing the program upgrade for Avast 2017 my PC keeps freezing. Did a update via the UI and a complete fresh install.
Now the thing is that i wanted to install the previous version i had installed Version: 12.3.3154.0 but since it’s only a online installer nowadays i was wondering if there is a place to download the offline installer for this version. Don’t want to download it from a non-trusted website and screw over my PC due to a wrong download.

Sorry for the late reply. I have tried with and without Avastclear to reïnstall a fresh Avast but to no avail. I even noticed my boot times have gone up by atleast 5-10 seconds on a SSD in comparison to the previous version.
I am actually looking for the offline installer of the previous version, not the new 2017. The fileversion of the correctly working online installer was 12.3.3154.0

Any answers or fixes for this? It’s unreal how much Avast 2017 has slowed down my PC

I know this post is a couple of months old but when this was happening to me I ended up uninstalling and switching to AVG (which has been bought by Avast). They are now eerily similar. It worked for a while then started doing the exact same thing after a week or two. So I switched again back to Avast. It appears to be running now and not locking up my computer when I try to open the interface.
I don’t know if I have a virus or Avast and AVG have become the virus. They have been nothing but problems. I can’t register, I can’t update, takes multiple times to have a change take effect, says my license will expire because I can’t register, virus scans fail, updates fail with step 1 at 100% (stuck on prod-pgm.vpx?), …
Time to reinstall again?
