This is my LAN configuration:
[PC with mail client] —> [Server with WinGate - LAN IP:192.168.0.1]
I’ve got Avast! running on every PC (obviously) and I sent mail from client to server with these settings (in the mail reader configuration):
POP: 192.168.0.1:110
username: mymail@my.domain#my.pop.server
SMTP: 192.168.0.1:25
With previous versions I’ve got to sent mail to Wingate and then to the Avast Mail Server, but now this doesn’t work anymore.
I suppose that Avast does a sort of sniffing on 25 and 110 ports, in order to detect incoming/outcoming mail messages.
Wingate has two own mail services, that got mail from clients and the sent them on the real mail server (usually a remote mail server on internet): I suppose that this is the step where Avast must come in, intercepting outcoming/incoming mail, but nothing works.
Server PC configuration:
Windows 2000 Pro
Avast 4.5.523
It’s better for me to wait for new official Avast release.
Thanks
