Avast 4.5, Thunderbird and the IMAP Sent folder

G’day folks,
I’m using Avast 4.5 Home edition with Moz Thunderbird (1.0) connecting to an IMAP server.

While Avast is intercepting the IMAP mail (i.e. Servername = 127.0.0.1 and Username = user#realservername), Thunderbird can’t save copies of sent mail messages to my IMAP Sent mail folder (but it can be changed to save to Local Folders quite happily). However, if I connect direct to the IMAP server, Thunderbird saves to the Sent folder without hassle.

Does anyone have any experience getting Avast scanning incoming mail and not causing it to burp while saving the sent copies to the IMAP server.

Using TB and imap, you have to make some changes in one of TB’s files.
This has been explained in another thread here.
Use the search option on this board to find it, make the changes and let us know if the problem is solved or not.

I could not found… Can you help more?

G’day folks,
Thanks for your comments.
I couldn’t find any clues about IMAP and TB in these forums (fora?) but I recall an old clue from the Mozilla site:
Tools | Account Settings | Server Settings | Advanced |
Set “Maximum number of server connections to cache” to more than 4

Mine had already been increased to 5, but my Sent folder problem had mysteriously gone away before I made any additional change!

Thanks again for your help

Regards
Ken
