I am having problems with the NNTP scanner on Avast 4.6. It seems to work great with only 1 NNTP connection. But when I have 2 or more NNTP connections open at the same time, it crashes. I am using Forte Agent on win2000 sp4.

I tried the patch. It no longer crashes. Now it just freezes up. I can’t even get the headers now. This is now happening with only 1 NNTP connection open.
Freezes - you mean doesn’t deliver any data?
Could you please turn on verbose logging as described here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=8057.msg65627#msg65627 , then generate some traffic (simulate the problem) and send me the log file?
BTW which newsgroup reader are you using?

Freezes - I mean I does not receive any data. It looks like it’s trying to, but I don’t receive anything. Then the sever times out and disconnects.
Do I need to restart Avast after I edit avast4.ini ?
I am using Agent newsreader version 2.0/32.652 on windows 2000 pro service pack 4
No restart should be necessary (the changes become effective immediately).
