So, it was new version 4.7…
I have time sync program Atomic Clock Sync (htt_://www.worldtimeserver.com) and LiveWeather II gadget by adni18 (htt_://www.adni18.com).
There are time to time asc’s weater site (weather.com,port HTTP) and time server (port 13, daytime) and that’s good.
Of corse, these ports are open on my firewall.
But after installing avast 4.7 this work was down.
No Avast messages, no firewall protocol - as this soft was died… Ok, i reinstall Atomic Clock and LiveWeather - no result.
I think reinstall Win :), but i tryed before this to remove Avast.
After it all was work…
Why Avast blocked this soft ?
Why it blocked silently - no messages, no comments ?
May Avast and this (or like) soft to live in peace?
Yes, browser and mail was work with Avast, but browser and mail - it’s not enough for normal life.
Sorry for my english
srsberg
P.S. My firewall - is NOT Zone Alarm. It has option “stop service and exit” and i try it. I try to stop all Avast protect too.
No results… I tryed ALL before removing Avast…

Which is your firewall?
avast is an antivirus and shouldn’t block anything, even less the clock synchronization…
Do you use PeerGuardian or any other security application?
Into the firewall settings, the following programs should be allowed to connect:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe (avast! Web Scanner) (specially this one could have something related to your problem…)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe (avast! e-Mail Scanner Service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\avast.setup (avast! Update executable)
Don’t need rights to connect:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe (avast! antivirus service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashUpdSv.exe (avast! Update Service)
02.09.2006 17:06:13 atomic.exe TCP OUT 132.163.4.102 Daytime Time Synchronizer connection MY IP 1034
firewall messages - there are very simple…
No latin strings - are russian: name of right to connect
w/ww - my remark - no links
we may see : opera work ok
liveweather ii gadget.exe and atomic.exe was blocked by Avast 4.7.
ashwebsv.exe needs server rights (both TCP in and TCP out connections allowed).
Are you the administrator of this computer (or you’re running as a common user)?
What’s this? : ???
Aren’t you using avast 4.7?
No… where are you seeing this?
avast can’t block anything… it’s an antivirus not a firewall.
Outpost could be blocking the 132.163.4.102 address (or PeerGuardian, for instance), or any other security program.
