What I usually do is download installers, programs, etc. to my downloads folder and run it from there. But I also have a copy of the installer I have on my XP machine in CD and tried to use it too when the copy I have downloaded on my win98se didn’t work.

As for the AVG, I removed it because I was thinking maybe the fault was on my system and so I reinstalled my win98se again but I still encountered the same problem.

By the way, thanks for the help you are all trying to give me people. I’ll be posting my full log in my succeeding posts, but I’ll have to do it in batches to go around the maximum length limit of this forum.
