Hi everyone , recently my Avast 4.8 Home edition has caused my IE stop working all the sudden , i jst turn the Avast off n turn it back on n it works , i think its the WEb Scanner thing causing my IE stop working , but during the period all my other programs req internet it still funtion no problem , except IE i think will same goes for FF or watever browsers , anyways once i on back my Avast protection i got 6 out of 7 normally but now i only having 5 n i think the Web Scanner aint working , anyone could help me out ?
Running Window Vista SP 2 , Home Basic , i got a Zone Alarm Firewall installed , i have allowed the Avast through my firewall n this happened before i even intall my firewall , so no way is Zone Alarm

3 What version of Internet Explorer are you having problems with?
4 Does the problem occur in other browsers too?
Sounds like ZA blocking ashWebSv.exe, regardless of what it says in the permissions as it seems that there are times even when they are allowed in ZA they are still blocked.
If it does allow ashWebSv.exe internet access delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

Hmmm maybe I will try , now i think i having worst things going on , if i not mistaken after my Avast lets say " Crashed " , u noe wat i meant like i said needed to turn it on n off again , so i think after tat problem , when i want to off my com , shut down it wont response neither can i restart it , i tried bringing up the task manager it too dosent work as if my com has hang but i still can play games / surf net = = " "
uninstall avast (with the uninstall tool)
uninstall zonealarm
install avast see if it works
if it works propperly then install zonealarm
if avast stops working then the problem is in zonealarm
if avast doesnt work properly before zonealarm is installed then we have a better direction to look for the problem…
stepping to a new AV sollution is an option, but its the easy way out. And since im a happy avast user i cant advise u anything else since all the others are not worth it for me, i have avast and it makes me happy, if there is another av solution that makes me more happy i would use that… right
true tat i dnt really want use other AV so far avast still only 1 i used is best but also been having issues tats the sad part , k now i have reinstall my AVast hope its ok , if still cant i uninstall everything n reinstall like u said , so be back in few days since need to check
