Avast 4.8 Home and Outlook Express

Just downloaded Avast 4.8 Home, and now in Outlook Express, whenever I try and send an email with a .jpeg attachment, the sending progress bar will suddenly halt about 7/8’s of the way down, and also cuts out the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please try this:

In Outlook Express Tools > Accounts > select your email account > Properties > Advanced tab > Move the “Server timeout” slider to say 3minutes.

How big is this .jpg attachment ?

I have been using avast and OE for a number of years and haven’t experienced this issue and my timeout is only 1 minute.
