Currently I’m using avast 4.8 polish language version. I know that some days ago avast 5 was released. Why when I click updates option it reports that no new updates are avaible? Is 4.8 to 5.0 autoupdate doable?
normally yes, don’t know why you don’t have the offer…they might have stopped it because people complained, not sure… but I’d honestly suggest that you uninstall 4.8 first manually, reboot and install V5 from scratch; best way to avoid a couple of unpleasant surprises many people have experienced with a direct upgrade.
wierd that program can’t be upgraded automatically. all will be good, but honestly at page I don’t see avast with my language.
it’s not that weird, there are too many differences between the two. Some people upgraded from V4 to V5 using the V5 installer, that uninstalls V4 first, so that’s not even a real upgrading process, but more like a complete replacement. And still, those too encountered issues, so again, better of with a completely clean install. For the language, if it’s not available yet as a download, you can still install Polish once you have the English version installed, you’ll find the option in the software main settings panel.
