Avast 4 Home blocking access to one address in OE

I have had to install Avast4Home on my computer but it is now blocking my access via Outlook Express to collect mail from an address I have on the server
http://webmail.supanet.com/webmail/src/login.php

I have checked that my username and password are correct in OE for this email address

what should my OE setting be please for the Avast Antivirus program; all my other Email addresses have no problems retrieving emails and this problem started only recently

Many Thanks

avast does not block, just scan and, if infected, quarantine the infection.
Which is your firewall? Is ashMaiSv.exe allowed to connect? Are others email accounts working into OE?

This is part of the error message I get

Error logging in. Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com’, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

all other email addresses are working OK

Is ashMaiSv.exe allowed to connect?

How do I find this information ?

How do I find this information ?
If you're using Windows Firewall, well, you can forget as it does not block outbound connections. So, it's not the problem. Sorry, I'm not an expert on mail things...

This is on a Windows 98SE machine and sadly it has only occurred since I have had to change to Avast and my antivirus program and then only since I think a recently program update; prior to that all my OE addresses connected and downloaded without problems ; it is now only the Supanet one that is giving probelms

Remove Mail Shield.

Go to Add/Remove Programs then remove the Mail Shield.

All files are scanned by avast! on access providing adequate protection.

There is no Mail Shield in my Add/Remove Programs

NOR is there any Outlook Express shield section in my ON access Protection Control

This only started when there was a recent Avast program update

MY curiosity is why this this only happening on ONE email address with supanet and all my other addresses are OK; what should my OE settings be for supanet with Avast?

Its in Add/Remove under avast! then Repair.

If you have a Screan- Shot of what you are seeing that would be helpful as I do not see it

My continued further research has found http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/tips/mail-settings.html

and I have changed a setting in OE as a consequence

I have now managed to retrieve mails from the Supanet server via OE…for the time being…
