Help.My problem is an annoying pop up window with the message “Avast!on-access scanner message” which I can`t close down.Advice anyone please.Regards.Jay
It seems that you’ve changed the avast settings without knowing what you were doing…
This is an option disabled by default. You can turn it off going to the Standard Shield provider settings, Advanced tab an unchecking ‘Show detailed information on action performed’. You can do this for the other providers too.

Welcome to avast. The most configurable antivirus around 8)
Thanks for the info.it worked o.k…But you are wrong saying that I had done something without knowing what I was doing. The trouble started after my son downloaded a spyware program, the settings for Avast had not been touched.Regards.Jay
The infection? Strange, that information you’ve saying in the first post should be related to any file being scanned, even clean ones and not just one infected file… Besides, you should have received a virus message when an infection occurred and not only a popup message at the bottom of the screen…
