Vlk, how about setting up a new Italian forum for you?
As for the avast! translations: We can see that many users would appreciate a localized version of avast! - and we are very pleased by any offer to do the translation.
Since the translators might encounter various problems if translating the source files of avast! directly, we have purchased a special software to make the translation as easy as possible. We prepare a “translation bundle” - a package containing all the avast! resources that need to be translated - and send it to the translator. The translator does not have to know much about the sources - he/she just uses a free (and quite easy to use) program to open (and translate :)) the package.
However, we have purchased five licenses for the translation software - it means that only five translations can be in progress simultaneously (or more precisely - we can send five translation bundles to the translators; if we want to send another one, we have to wait until one of the bundles comes back traslated).
Currently, there really are five translations in progress - avast! is being translated to Dutch, Italian, French, Spanish and German. I cannot say when any of the languages will be done; it might seem simple, but in fact it’s quite a lot of work and the translators are volunteers doing the translations in their free time, so it’s not a matter of a few days…
Or course, I check this forum and note all your offers; when some of the translations is done and it is possible to start a new one, I will let you know.
Thanks a lot!
